JUROR

Henryk Ptasiewicz

ABOUT THE JUROR

Henryk Ptasiewicz was born in Scunthorpe, England. As an only child he occupied himself building and flying model aeroplanes, eventually designing his own. He also drew, mainly on scraps of wallpaper with coal, and received a watercolour set at age five. Originally he wanted to be a draughtsman, but because he could draw, he was persuaded to pursue technical illustration, but after that he attended St Martin’s school of Art in London as a Graphic Designer.

Henryk had several Art related careers, including being the Sculptor/ Designer for several fiberglass companies in England making a variety of imaginative sculptures for theme parks to full size dinosaurs.
In 1984 he had the good fortune to meet the Artist Robert Lenkiewicz. His Philosophy had a major influence on Henryk and he visited regularly with Lenkiewicz until he came to America in 1999. Henryk has since enjoyed a professional career as an Artist, painting public and private commissions. He lives in St Louis and is represented by several galleries including the Heartland in Kirkwood and the Le nu Figurative Art Salon in Chesterfield.
